Greek Apple Cake (Milopita)

This Greek Apple Cake or Milopita produces a soft, tender cake that is packed with thinly sliced apples and warm cinnamon spice.

Ingredients: – Apples – Eggs – Sugar – Oil – Orange juice – Vanilla extract – Cinnamon – Baking Powder – Flour

Toss the sliced apples with sugar and cinnamon. Arrange them them on the bottom of a parchment lined cake pan.

Separate the egg yolks and egg whites. Start by whipping the whites until they form stiff peaks.

In another bowl, beat the egg yolks and sugar together.

To the egg yolk mixture, add the oil, orange juice, and vanilla, cinnamon and baking powder.

Slowly add the flour and whipped egg whites until everything is combined.

Fold in the apples and then transfer to the cake pan.

Bake until golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
