Dinner Rolls

These 40-minute Pumpkin Dinner Rolls are shaped like adorable little pumpkins and are the perfect side for Thanksgiving or Hallowe’en meals!

What you will need: – active dry yeast – warm water – oil – sugar – pumpkin puree – egg – salt – flour – egg + water (for egg wash) – almonds, sliced in half

Start by making the bread dough. Mix the yeast, warm water, oil and sugar together and let it sit for 5 minutes. Let it sit for 5 minutes until it is foamy.

Mix in the egg and pumpkin puree.

Slowly incorporate the flour and knead the dough (I use a stand mixer) for 5 minutes until soft and elastic.

Then shape the pumpkins: Form the dough into a large ball and divide it into 16 smaller portions. Then, roll each portion into a ball.

Cut 8 slits into the ball using a sharp knife and make a little indentation into the center with your pinky finger.

Let the dough rise for 10 minutes, then brush them with egg wash and bake!

Once baked, stick an almond into each roll to form the pumpkin stem.
