Ingredients

  • 6 slices bread (tsoureki bread slices)
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • pinch of cinnamon
  • butter, for frying
  • honey or maple syrup, for serving

Instructions

  • In a bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and cinnamon together. Place the tsoureki slices in the mixture and allow them to soak it in for minute or so (be careful not to leave them submerged for too long or the bread will begin to fall apart).
  • Meanwhile, heat a pat of butter in pan over medium heat. Add the tsoureki slices and cook for about 2-3 minutes on each side or until they begin to brown nicely. You will likely have to cook the slices in batches so repeat the process until all the tsoureki French toast is cooked.
  • Serve with honey or maple syrup and enjoy!
