The classic Gin & Tonic gets an upgrade with the addition of a delicious blueberry simple syrup and fresh lemon juice. This Blueberry Gin & Tonic is the perfect cocktail to sip on a hot summer day!
1ounceblueberry simple syrup(see below for recipe)
1/2ouncelemon juicefreshly squeezed
5ouncestonic water
ice
Garnishes (optional)
slice of lemonfor garnish
blueberriesfor garnish
1sprig rosemaryfor garnish
Blueberry simple syrup
1cupblueberries (frozen or fresh)
1/2cupwater
1/2cupsugar
Instructions
In a saucepan, add all of the ingredients for the blueberry syrup. Simmer it over medium heat for a couple of minutes, until the sugar dissolves. Strain and let cool.
Prepare a cocktail glass with ice. If using garnishes, add a slice of lemon, some fresh blueberries and a sprig of rosemary to the cocktail glass.
Add the gin, blueberry syrup, lemon juice and some ice to a cocktail shaker. Shake to mix the cocktail ingredients. Strain the cocktail mixture into the prepared cocktail glass and top it with tonic water.
