Preheat oven to 350F and line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper.
Stir melted butter and brown sugar in a bowl until combined. Add the egg, pureed pumpkin, vanilla, pumpkin pie spice and salt, stirring to combine.
Add the baking soda and flour and combine everything. Finally, add the chocolate chips.
Roll out the dough into balls (approximately 1 1/2 tablespoons of dough for each ball) and press down slightly to flatten them out just a bit. Then bake for approximately 10-13 minutes or until lightly browned on the bottom.
