Ingredients
 
 

For the Vanilla Simple Syrup (makes enough for 4 lattes):

  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 cup white granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

To make an iced vanilla latte:

  • 1 cup ice
  • 1/2 cup strong-brewed coffee or 2 shots espresso*
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla simple syrup*
  • 3/4 cup milk*

Instructions
 

To make the vanilla simple syrup:

  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, add all of the syrup ingredients except the vanilla extract. Simmer together for 5-7 minutes, whisking often. Remove from heat and whisk in the vanilla. Let it cool.

To make one iced latte:

  • Place the ice in a tall glass. Pour in the espresso or strong-brewed coffee.
  • Add 2 tablespoons of vanilla simple syrup* and the milk to a mason jar with a secure lid or a cocktail shaker [Note: If you opt to use strong brewed coffee instead of espresso, you may need to reduce the amount of milk you use, depending on the strength of your brew. I recommend you start by using less than the amount listed in the recipe and then add more if needed.]
  • Shake for a minute. Pour the frothed milk over the iced coffee. Enjoy.

  • If you are using strong-brewed coffee instead of espresso, you may need to adjust the amount of milk you use (such as using less), depending on the strength of the coffee. This will depend on the strength of your brew. 
  • Adjust the amount of syrup to suit your preferences.
