This refreshing Watermelon Vodka Soda is the perfect summer cocktail! Fruity, perfectly sweet, and easy to make!
When hot weather arrives, fruity, summery cocktails are my jam! There is something about sipping on a sweet cocktail on hot day that makes me feel like i’m on a vacation while, in reality, I am sitting in my own yard.
BBQs and gettogethers also beg for a nice cocktail with friends and family and this is one that is so incredibly easy to put together! It impresses and pleases the taste buds, all the while, you hardly have to do a thing.
We love watermelon juice and pick some up on our grocery trips often. You can also make your own watermelon juice by scooping out the watermelon and blitzing it in a blender (and then straining it). But store-bought is my go to. No need to make any extra mess.
I have never actually been a huge fan of vodka soda, to be honest. It offers no sweetness and so I just don’t gravitate towards it. But my sister loves it and so does my sister in law. And so one day, while stirring up some cocktails, I decided to make one for myself and add bit of watermelon juice to mine. Needless to say, they asked for a splash of juice in theirs too.
That is exactly how I stumbled onto this recipe. It has now become one of our favourites to serve on special nights or even quiet nights sitting in our yard. Its easy, delicious and doesn’t require much fuss.
