Nutella Latte

Super easy to make and requiring just 3 ingredients, this Nutella Latte recipe is a delicious way to start your day! Perfectly sweet, nutty, and chocolatey.

If you are a Nutella lover like me, you know just how good adding Nutella to just about anything is. A bland piece of toast becomes an absolute treat with a generous smear of Nutella on it.

So it comes as no surprise that when you add a nice dollop of Nutella to your morning latte, you are bound to get something delicious. This Nutella Latte recipe is the perfect start to any morning. It’s perfect for a cozy morning at home or whenever you need a little pick-me-up to brighten your mood.

Making this chocolate hazelnut latte cannot be simpler. Just espresso (or strongly brewed coffee), milk, and Nutella are needed. In just minutes you have yourself a Nutella flavored latte that is sure to impress.

If you do not have an espresso machine or milk frother, you can still make this recipe. See my “Latte without any special equipment” section below for tips.

  • It’s delicious! Nutty, chocolatey, and oh-so tasty!

  • Making a latte at home is so easy to do.

  • Only 3 ingredients are needed!

  • Homemade lattes cost only a fraction of the price of a latte at a fancy coffee shop.

  • You can easily adjust the ingredients to suit your own preferences.

Ingredients in a Nutella Latte

  • Nutella: No surprise here, Nutella is what gives this latte its flavor. While other flavored lattes typically include a syrup, Nutella adds the nutty, chocolatey flavor as well as the sweetness so no additional sweetener is required. If you prefer, you can also substitute for a different chocolate hazelnut spread.

  • Coffee: Espresso is the base of any latte, however, if you do not have an espresso machine at home, you can substitute strongly brewed coffee instead. If you are using strongly brewed coffee instead, you may need to adjust the amount of milk you add depending on the strength of your brew.

  • Milk: Whole milk or 2% milk will give you a richer latte, however, you can easily substitute for skim or a plant-based milk. Keep in mind, lower fat milk or plant based milk may not froth up like whole milk does.

  • Optional: Cocoa powder to garnish.

How to make Nutella Latte

  1. Melt the Nutella. Add 1-2 tablespoons of Nutella and the espresso/hot coffee to a mug. Stir together until Nutella is melted.

  2. Froth the milk. In a milk frother (or in a mug using a handheld milk frother), froth and heat the milk (if your frother does not warm the milk, warm the milk first on the stove top). Pour the frothed milk over the coffee and Nutella mixture.

  3. Optional garnish: Top with a sprinkle of cocoa powder. Enjoy!

Latte without any special equipment

If you do not have an espresso machine or milk frother at home, you can still enjoy this latte recipe.

As mentioned in the recipe, if you do not have an espresso machine, you can opt for strongly brewed coffee instead. Alternatively, instant espresso powder can also be used.

To froth your milk without a milk frother, place the milk in a saucepan and whisk it as it warms up. Continuous whisking can help create some frothing. As mentioned earlier, if you are using a low fat milk or a plant based milk, you may not get any frothiness. Simply warming up the milk can still make a tasty latte, though.
