How to make apple tarts

While the full instructions are in the recipe card below, but this recipe really comes down to a few simple steps:

  1. Prepare the puff pastry: Divide puff pastry into 4 square segments. Using a paring knife, cut a 1 cm border around each square, being careful not to cut all the way through the puff pastry. Brush the border with the egg.

  2. Prepare the apple slices: Slice apples and then toss in a bowl with the lemon juice, melted butter, brown sugar and cinnamon.

  3. Arrange the apples: Lay out apple slices on top of puff pastry, careful not to get onto the border. Drizzle with extra cinnamon mixture.

  4. Bake: Bake in the oven for approximately 25 minutes or until puff pastry is cooked through and a nice golden brown.

You can serve these puff pastry apple tarts on there own but I personally love to sprinkle them with some icing sugar and serve them with a scoop of ice cream!

So good!

I hope you enjoy this recipe!
