We love a good salad around here and this one is one of our favourites! Simple in ingredients (and ones we usually already have on hand) and so incredibly quick to put together. That’s my kind of side dish!
This salad gives off lovely, simple Greek flavours similar to a Greek salad. Good quality olive oil, oregano and feta cheese. Yes please to all of the above! It’s probably my Greek girl genes coming into play here but I am always down for some feta.
So. Darn. Yummy!

Health Benefits
This salad is simple and healthy. Cucumbers make up the majority of this salad. They are not only low in calories but they are a great way to hydrate. Cucumbers are linked to a whole host of health benefits. Its a source of antioxidants and is rich in a number of vitamins (including Vitamin A, B, magnesium and potassium, among others).
Add to the that the benefits from olive oil, onion and oregano and you know that you are nourishing your body with each bite!
Ingredients in Cucumber Feta Salad
- Cucumber: You can use mini cucumbers (like I did) or a larger English cucumber for this recipe.
- Red onion: thinly sliced.
- Feta: Use a good quality feta.
- Olive oil: A good quality olive oil goes a long way. Along with the red wine vinegar, it is the base of the “dressing” so be sure to choose a good tasting oil.
- Red wine vinegar: You can substitute white wine vinegar of apple cider vinegar.
- Dried oregano
- Salt and pepper: Feta adds salt to the salad so be sure to taste as you season.
How to make Cucumber Feta Salad
- Chop cucumbers into bite sized pieces.
- Place in a bowl and add all the remaining ingredients.
- Toss together to ensure salad is well mixed. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
That is literally it. See what I mean about this being the easiest salad?

I enjoyed this salad – it was a nice change from the sweet cucumber salad that I usually make. I did add a little lemon juice because I felt that it needed a little acid. I definitely will make it again.
What is the serving size?
Do you make this ahead of time? How long will it stay fresh in the fridge?
Hi Stacy! If you need to do some of the prep work in advance (but not too far in advance), I’d recommend adding the chopped cucumber, onion and the crumbled feta to a salad bowl and then covering with plastic wrap and keeping it in the fridge. Then when you want to serve the salad, I would add the olive oil, vinegar, and seasonings and toss it just before serving. Just like with other salads, if you dress the salad and then store it in the fridge for awhile, it starts to get soggy so I’d leave that part until last minute.
Loved this recipe! Great side for Greek salmon!
So happy you loved it! We make it often!
